DIVISION One table-toppers Greenall Padgate St Oswald were shocked 3-0 at home by Stalybridge Celtic reserves, in the first round of the Cheshire Building Society Cheshire League’s Jack Parker Challenge Trophy.
Dan Cox, Chris Holt and Dave Evans scored three late goals for Celtic to clinch the upset of the day.
There was no such surprise at Middlewich Town where the holders accounted for a strong Witton Albion reserves side in a 5-3 thriller.
Crosfields were 3-2 victors against Pilkington at St Helens with two goals from Steve Wellstead and one from Neil Holden seeing them through.
New clubs Grappenhall Sports and FC of United reserves clashed in the first round of the Second Division Cup, the mid-Cheshire side winning a thriller 3-2 after extra-time with Danny Sissons hitting a double.
In Division Two, Malpas scored their first win of the season, Mark Lloyd grabbing the only goal.
Club AZ moved into a four points lead after beating Maine Road 2-1 at Macclesfield, but struggling Lostock Gralam remain firmly at the foot of the table after a 4-0 thrashing at Congleton Town.

CAMMELL Laird reserves have been drawn at home to Heswall in the second round of the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup on Saturday, October 27. This tie will be played under floodlights starting at 3pm with all others at 2pm.
