A SPARSE crowd heralded the Invision UniBond TV cameras at Ingfield for this UniBond League Premier Division match.
Both sides produced endeavour with the final product lacking in decisiveness. Prescot’s Richie Mottram being the more active of the two keepers.
The visitors fell behind once again to a goal almost on half-time.
Fothergill was allowed a free header in the 44th minute that Mottram finger-tipped onto the post. The ball presented itself to Walshaw who could not miss.
Questions were again asked of Prescot’s defence when Fothergill from six yards out had time to select an area of goal to make the score 2-0 in the 67th minute.
Eammon Price had a couple of shots just wide and Karl Connolly hit the bar but it was Ossett’s game. They wrapped up a convincing win when Thompson had the simplest of tap-ins to plunge Cables towards the relegation zone.
PRESCOT CABLES: Mottram, Smith, Dever, Molyneux (Daniels), Bell, Ridler, Lynch, Taylor, Connolly, Price, Stannard (McEwen). Subs: Byers
