Lairds add to fine run

CAMMELL Laird made it six wins on the trot after a dogged victory over Colwyn Bay in the UniBond League Division One South.

The first period was one of few chances as two strong teams cancelled each other out. It was Bay who came closest toward the end of the half when Laird keeper did well to save twice from point-blank range.

Laird’s tenacity held them in good stead in the second period and their efforts paid off with 15 minutes to go when an 18 yard shot from Stuart Wright found the top corner.

Bay custodian Jamie Spear did well to keep the home side out but the Laird’s lead was doubled shortly before the final whistle with a debut goal for Jason Ward.
