Birch brace helps Brighton beat leaders Laird Youth

NEW BRIGHTON threw out the form book against Victoria Laird Youth to beat the leaders thanks to goals from Daniel Sargents, Kyle Birch (2) and Jack Hammond.

Elsewhere in the League, Neston Nomads had a goal-fest at St Johns Celtic (T Jones) with a 12-1 victory.

Scorers for Neston were Dave Forbes (3), Lee Kearns (3), Kevin Williams (2), Richie Foulkes, Robert Foulkes, Richie Wainwright and Rob Jones.

In Division Two FC Vaults (Ben Davies) had a heavy loss against Argyll, Kevin Davies, Nicky Taylor, Joe Curran (2), Lee Yarlett and Jamie Gladwin scoring in a 6-1 victory.

Irby Club had Lee Jones (3), Paul Devey (2), Mike Whitley, Billy Devey and Dave Purcee on target to assume control at the top in an 8-0 win over an injury-plagued St Josephs Birkenhead.

In Division Three, Wavertree Wanderers had four-goal Lee Walker, Stu Gimblett and Michael Ratchford to thank as they continued their high-flying ways to put AFC Mississippi on the receiving end of a 6-1 drubbing. Gary Brabander replied from the spot.

JB Leasings’ Mike Shaw was back to scoring form in a 4-2 win over Shaftesbury.

Liam Cairns scored two and Kevin James completed the scoreline. Lee Griffiths scored twice in reply for Shaftesbury.
