Nicosia claw past rivals Lobster

IN the LCFA Senior Cup Nicosia beat rivals Lobster from the Liverpool League 2-0, with goals from Joe Gibiluru Jnr and Ben Obong.

The Junior Cup saw Dunnys’ Dom Tierney and Chris Jones on target in the 2-1 win over The Sheaf while Alliance & Leicester went ahead when Jamie Carey hit home an early penalty and Mick Wright added a second to seal a 2-1 passage to the next round against Forefield Rangers.

A Fran Barry hat-trick and Gavin Homan strike saw St Sebastian’s safely through 4-0 over The Meadows.

Priory Villa had John Leamey and Aiden Marney netting, but paid the price for missing numerous as Earlestown Athletic finished 3-2 up.

In the Intermediate Cup, Fran Evans grabbed six as Mossley Hill demolished Harrington 19-3. Greystone and the Anfield Hotel shared 13 goals as Shawn Almond (3), Sean Avery (2), Paul Clarke (2) and Etheridge gave Greystone an 8-5 win.

St Mark’s were 4-0 down at half-time as James Hartley (2), Sean Dunn and Sean Sanderson put GRA ahead but goals from Anthony Long, Tony Bohanna and Kev Colfar got them back into the game. James Powell then slotted home GRA’s fifth to go through.

Strawberry Tavern went to Jericho Lane and had Jamie Gallagher, Don Patterson and Steve Reed on target but Jericho held out to take the tie 4-3.

Fantail Athletic, playing Toby Celtic from the Skelmersdale League, had better fortune as Ramon McCue (2), Rick Shires, Kev Brown and Paul King were all on target in a 5-2 win.
