BOUYED up by his team’s recent improvement Northwich Victoria manager Dino Maamria takes a confident team to Rivacre Road for today’s FA Trophy first round game against Vauxhall Motors.
Maamria said: “I have promised our supporters we shall be going flat out to get off bottom place and avoid relegation in the Blue Square Premiership, but we also want to do well again in the FA Trophy after reaching the semi-finals last season.
“We have one or two team problems, but I’m sure we shall do well, although I respect Vauxhalls and am an admirer of what they have achieved there.”
Vics have right-back Richard Battersby suspended for one game and centre-back Michael Welch out with ankle damage, while winger Danny Williams is doubtful with a knee twist and winger Adam Morning is cup-tied.
In come defenders Simon Rusk and Greg Strong with Nick Farquarson a possible debutant in midfield.
Lucas Akin and back-to-form striker Lee Steele continue up their partnership up front.
