SKELMERSDALE UNITED stretched their unbeaten run to 10 games with a convincing win at Lambeth Grove in the UniBond League First Division.
Kevin Leadbetter opened up the scoring 30 seconds into the second half with a goal worthy of the entrance fee alone. From 20 yards out he turned his marker before unleashing a powerful left-footed shot which hit the upright before bouncing into the net.
Leadbetter increased United’s lead in the 60th minute with another good finish. A short corner by Crompton was played to Leadbetter, who in turn worked his way down the by-line before sending a cross to the far post. Leadbetter continued his run and Michael White played a lovely return pass to give the diminutive midfielder the simple task of guiding the ball into the net.
Georgie Donnelly made it 3-0 in the 74th minute as he turned his marker just outside the centre circle before making a 30-yard run to finish with a low shot.
