SKEM United conceded a sloppy goal in the third minute of this UniBond League Challenge Cup, and were lucky to get to half time with such a slim deficit.
A mix up between Paul Crompton and Steve Akrigg led to Louis Briscoe breaking free and slotting the ball into the bottom left hand corner.
United got themselves back into the game in the 50th minute when Steve Akrigg swept Paul Crompton’s corner home.
Georgie Donnelly curled a wonderful header into the top right hand corner of the net in the 57th minute courtesy of Phil Holland’s free kick.
The proverbial final nail in the coffin came in the 72nd minute. Paul Crompton’s cross field pass found Sean McConville . His shot ricocheted off the inside of the upright and skipped across the face of the goal, but as luck would have it Georgie Donnelly was on hand to poke the ball into the back of the net.
