Skem victims of fightback
UNITED threw everything at Ossett bar the kitchen sink, but a dogged and physical approach by the visitors saw them overturn a half-time deficit.
Skem took the lead in the 25th minute when Georgie Donnelly took receipt of a poor clearance. His initial shot was blocked but he made sure with the rebound as he calmly tucked the ball into the back of the net.
Just before half-time Kevin Leadbetter broke free only to see his shot rebound off the upright and Adam Birchall, who was well placed, ballooned his shot into the sky.
United dished out a similar lesson in the early stages of the second half, but some tasty tackles by Ossett were largely overlooked.
Ossett got back on terms in the 82nd minute when Phil Holland was controversially judged to have fouled inside the area and Andrew Seed converted the spot-kick.
United tried their best to claim the three points but the keeper pulled off another good save from Leadbetter, and a scramble in the box forced a goal-line clearance as the game went into injury time.
