TWO goals in three minutes made sure the sides shared the points in this end-to-end UniBond Premier match between Prescot Cables and Ossett Town.
The first clear-cut chance fell to Cables’ Eddie Taylor who shot wide after 11 minutes.
The visitors continued to press forward and Blake Norton had a close-range shot well saved after 19 minutes.
In the closing minutes of the half the home side failed to take advantage of a series of corners on the right-hand side and the half ended goalless.
Ossett had the first goalmouth chance of the second half when Simon Baldry had a shot saved. The visitors continued to push forward and Cabes were very relieved when Phil Cooney cleared the ball off the line after a corner from the left seemed goal-bound.
With 72 minutes on the clock a cross from the right found Scott Jackson in space. Jackson made no mistake with his shot.
But the visitors’ lead only lasted for three minutes. The ever-impressive Ryan Wade crossed the ball from the right to Darren Byers who made the scores level.
