UNITED went to the top of the UniBond Division One North after inflicting a demolition job on local rivals Chorley.
Kevin Leadbetter opened up the scoring with a great finish in the 27th minute, and a minute later Aaron Turner doubled United’s lead.
Kevin Leadbetter scored his second in the 57th minute.
The remaining four goals came in the last eight minutes. Sean McConville somehow managed to squeeze a weak shot into the bottom right hand corner of the net.
Georgie Donnelly got the goal he’d worked so hard for in the 86th minute, and almost scored again soon after but his shot was blocked but fell kindly to Paul Prescott who slotted home.
The rout was complete in the 90th minute when McConville ran onto Leadbetter’s pass.
