In the second round a fiery contest between BRNESC and South Liverpool saw South come away with a 2-0 win, despite losing a player midway through the second half, Steve Kelly (his 15th of the season) and Steve Coyne with South’s goals which take them to the semi-finals.
In the other second round match, despite playing for 120 minutes, nobody could separate the teams so the dreaded penalties came into play and it was Red Rum who came away with victory, 7-6 on pens.
In the Roy Wade Cup first round and much delayed cup tie, finally Aigburth PH saw off a strong challenge from Mackets to go through 3-0 via John Lally, Neil Wenham with his 13th goal of the season and Reg Standish sealed the victory.
