PROMOTION contenders Liscard Bronze had to settle for a point in a hard-fought Division Two encounter versus Our Ladies that ended in a 1-1 draw, but they stay six points clear of inactive Farmers Arms.
John Pringle gave them an early lead from the penalty spot but a superb 25-yard volley from Dave Jones levelled matters before the break. Chances came and went for both sides in the second half with Our Ladies keeper Tony Quinn making a couple of memorable saves to keep the game level. The Joeys moved into the top three following their 6-2 defeat of Phoenix (John Thompson and Gareth Anderton) and Stanleys Cask earned a creditable point against Young Lions who lacked bite when missing two penalties but a point apiece seemed fair as Mike Crisp and Daren Wright netted for the Cask.
Magee Cup second round action saw only two games played but they produced 20 goals, with 10 in each game. Grange FC Sank seven past the luckless Egremont Ferry. The Office also bagged seven when beating Rose & Crown 7-3, thanks to Steve Hawitt notching four times and Neil Ashurst, Colin Hawitt and Lee Hammond all scored once.
The overdue Dutchman Cup third round tie saw Oyster Catcher wing their way past FC Victoria with a 5-1 success.
Queens FC look certain of promotion from division one after beating Windsor 3-2, thanks to James Harris, Jamie Jones and Andy Anglesey netting. Dominick Higgins and Lee McConnell netted for Windsor. Pilot Boat beat Upton FC with a 3-2 win, as Baker, Mackie and Howey scored in an even game.
In the Youth Division Christleton Youth maintained their 100% record with a 6-0 victory over Irby Youth to regain top spot on goal difference from the inactive Neston Nomads.
