Penny Lane on song as Stirrup romp to victory

IN the Premier Division, Penny Lane beat FC Beehive with a goal from Gerrard McAvoy and Stirrup Sports & Social had an end-to-end match against the Woodchurch.

Two goals from Darren Eaton and one from Carl Maughan secured all three points for the Stirrup, with Daniel Watterson in reply for the Woodchurch.

The Neston Nomads scoring duo of Foulkes and Forbes were back on fine form as their side took all the points from Royal Sun Alliance.

Goals from Lee Cairns (2), Richie Foulkes (2), Kev Williams and Dave Forbes resulted in a 6-0 victory. Parkside managed a last minute goal from Chris Bowe to take the points against St Johns Celtic, and Rush’s first half penalty wasn’t enough for Rangers Breaks, who were beaten by Heygarth FC (Clint Evans 2, Eamon Buhalfaia). Rock Ferry Social battled hard and the effort paid off, with Jamie Kenyon bagging two and Daniel McNicholas assisting with one goal, but Heswall Windows didn’t let go and scored two in reply (James Shaw, Scott Logan).

Argyll turned Ultraseal over with a fine performance and five goals in the net. Scorers for Argyll were Simon Brammer (3), Joe Curran and Jamie Gladwin.
