BURSCOUGH looked down and out at Victoria Park on Saturday, 2-0 behind and struggling before fighting back to bag three vital UniBond League Premier Division play-off points with a 3-2 win.
The first-half was scoreless. But in the 49th minute, Hyde number seven Peter Band held off two challenges, and despatched a shot from 18 yards into the corner of the Linnets net.
Hyde doubled their lead in the 59th minute. Chris Simm running in from the edge of the area, to crash the ball into the Burscough net with a fine header off Gareth Morris’s corner.
When Matt Parry was fouled on the hour, it gave Brian Moogan the chance to hit a free-kick that skimmed all the way through the Hyde defence and into the net.
Eight minutes later Burscough were level, Band handled the ball off Brian Moogan’s corner and Ciaran Kilheeney gave Hyde keeper Craig Dootson no chance from the spot.
Brian Moogan completed Burscough’s comeback as play entered added time. Sending a dipping 25-yard free-kick into Dootson’s top right-hand corner.
