AN inspirational moment from Cables striker Eamonn Price gave the home side victory.
Cables nearly took the lead in this UniBond Premier game after three minutes when Liam Kennedy forced a good double save out of North Ferriby goalkeeper James Windeatt.
North Ferriby thought they had taken the lead when a free-kick found its way into the net after 32 minutes.
The celebrations came to an abrupt end when the referee acknowledged the linesman’s flag.
Both goalkeepers were called into action in the early stages of the second half with Wade forcing a save out of Windeatt after 52 minutes and Russell Fry from Richie Mottram at the other end.
With just over an hour on the clock came the moment that sealed the points for the home side. Michael Price took a free kick for North Ferriby that was well saved by Mottram.
The Cables keeper dispatched the ball to the other end of the pitch where Price was on hand to lob the ball over the goalkeeper and then run past him to head it into the net.
PRESCOT CABLES: Mottram, Murphy, Smith, O’Donnell, Karl Bell, James Bell, Wade (Croxton 90), Taylor, Kennedy (Byers 76), Price (McEwen 90), Cooney.
