WARRINGTON Town’s keeper Diego Bassanini made two outstanding reaction saves as Town took all the points against Gresley.
It was Town that stated the better in this UniBond First Division as Gavin Lynch came close and a bullet header minutes later from Carl Rendell brought a fine save from Gresley keeper David Clarke.
But Warrington took the lead on the half-hour after a through ball found Thomas Lamb, whose initial shot was spilled by Clarke before Lamb took full advantage to score.
In the second half Town should have had a penalty when defender Dan Douglas used his arm to steer the ball away.
In the latter stages of the game Gresley were denied a clear-cut chance when Brian Holmes blocked David Blenkinsopp’s shot. Town’s keeper Bassanini then made two reaction saves to secure the points.
