Chance to vote for player of the season

IAN GOODISON faces stiff competition for the crown of Tranmere’s player of the season.

The Jamaican defender was the fans’ number one choice 12 months ago but this year Goodison can expected to be challenged, among others, by Steve Jennings, a powerhouse in midfield alongside the consistent Paul McLaren. Danny Coyne’s performances in goal may also win support, as could full-back Andy Taylor, a big hit with many fans since joining Rovers from Blackburn in November.

Tranmere stage the Player of the Season dinner at the Belmont Suite, Prenton Park on Monday, April 28, five days before the end of the regular League One programme.

Supporters can vote for their player of the season, young player of the season and goal of the season by filling in a form at the club shop or by e-mail to playeroftheseason@tranmererovers.co.uk

The players’ player of the season and young player of the season awards will also be announced on the night.

The £30 a head event is to be hosted by Shaun Styles of BBC Radio Merseyside. Tickets are available from the club shop.
