THE wet weather disrupted fixtures yet again and caused the loss of the Premier Division Cup final as well as Division One and Youth Division games.
However, the re-arranged Capitol Cup second round tie did take place and Grange FC had to work overtime to tame Young Lions in a great game that was decided by a 60th minute effort from Tom Hughes to take Grange into round three.
Division Two action saw The Joeys retain second place following their 5-0 defeat of bottom-placed Mackenzies thanks to a Chris Smith double and singles from Jamie Stark, Eddie Williams and Joseph Littler to take the points.
Third-placed Farmers Arms ploughed past Leasowe Alliance in a 4-1 victory, as Graeme Jones netted twice, Lee Sherlock blasted in a screamer and an own goal sealed the win.
Irby FC continued their chase of the top three when beating Our Ladys (Mike McCann) 3-1 to put them within five points of second place with games in hand, but a congested schedule will be a big test for their squad.
The only Premier Division game resulted in a 10-1 demolition by Poulton Royal as they wrecked the Ship FC due to Mike Vernon bagging a superb nap hand. Dave Favager ran in a treble and both Tommy Carroll and Neil Atkinson added singles in a one-sided affair that keeps the Royal in the title hunt.
Clubs with night fixtures are reminded to start games at the scheduled time and ensure confirmation is provided to both the match officials and their opponents.
All cup games must be played to a conclusion, with the use of extra time and penalties if required.
RESULTS: Division Two: Stockton Heath Legion 0 Ex Serviceman’s FC 1. Division Three: Jolly Tanner 3 Brickmakers 1, The Dragons AFC 1 Earlestown Athletic FC 4.
