NORTHWICH Victoria fans have raised £3,000 to spend four nights in a hotel between their two vital Blue Square Premier League games at Exeter City today and Torquay United on Tuesday.
General manager David Thomas said: “The Supporters Trust set the ball rolling, plus a contributions from their funds totalling £1,750 and the Supporters Club have now given us more than £600. We’ve many private donations as well.
“It’s been a spirited effort and manager Dino Maamria is thrilled.
“This could make all the difference between avoiding relegation and staying up.”
Vics take the field at Exeter unbeaten in 12 games but are without midfielder Michael Byrne, who servs a one-match ban. Luke Horrocks will take his place in an unchanged team as goalkeeper Ben Connett retains his place.
Fourteen-goal striker Lee Steele has been named player of the month by the supporters club to add to Blue Square Premier award he received earlier this week.
