BURSCOUGH ended their Blue Square North away fixtures last night at Borough Park and completed a season of away games without drawing once.
The victory keeps their meagre play-off hopes alive and the difference between the two teams was a superb piece of individual flair from top scorer Kieran Kilheeney. In first-half injury time he chipped the ball over an isolated Dan Kirkup in the Workington defence then stroked the ball sideways to present strike partner Alan Smart with an unmissable opportunity.
The second half was very stretched, goalkeeper Tony McMillan rescuing the Linnets on a number of occasions while at the other end Kilheeney was himself unlucky to hit the bar after a good move down the left.
