FOLLOWING the finan-cial collapse and dem-ise of Halifax Town, Altrincham have been given a reprieve and two weeks after being relegated are rein-stated in the Blue Square Premier next season.
Apart from Halifax, likely to return under a new title in UniBond League North, Farsley Celtic, Stafford Ran-gers and Droylsden all lose their places in BSP.
Meanwhile, Northwich manager Dino Maamria has arranged six pre-season friendlies including two attractive games against Premier League opposition in Wigan Athletic and Blackburn, both at the Marston’s Arena.
Friendlies: Wednesday, July 9 Clitheroe away; Saturday, July 12 Leigh RMI away; Saturday, July 19 Macclesfield Town home; Monday, July 21 Wigan Ath home; Wednesday, July 30 Blackburn Rovers home; Saturday, August 2 Bury home. The 2008-09 season starts on August 9.
