UNIBOND Premier new boys Cammell Laird have bolstered their squad with three new signings in the past week.
Striker Neil Black has signed from Colwyn Bay, Black was the second highest scorer last season in the UniBond League Division One South with a tally of 30 goals.
Another new face at Kirklands will be ex Southport goalkeeper Richard Whiteside. Aged just 22, the former England Schoolboys keeper already has a wealth of experience having played at a host of clubs in the north west.
Whiteside’s previous clubs also include Blackpool, Preston and Blackburn.
Completing the trio is 25-year-old midfielder Danny Desormaux from Welsh Premier outfit Airbus UK Broughton. Desormaux played 31 times last season scoring six goals.
Assistant manager Neil Young said: “We only had a small squad last season which we have managed to keep together.
“Thanks to a lot of hard work behind the scenes we have been able to expand it with these signings.
“It will be our first ever season in the Premier Division, it’s a step into the unknown, but we are determined not to just make up the numbers.”
