Copperas Hill deliver the goods with style

IN THE First Division, the biggest win of the day belonged to Copperas Hill, as the Posties hammered BRNESC 10-0 at home with Jimmy Wiencke, Mike Kinney and Mick Murphy all grabbing braces.

Leaders Albany had a good home win over Kingsley 6-3, with the Burquests among the goals (Carl, Ian and Tony) all on the scoresheet, whilst Alan Kinney grabbed a brace.

Second-placed REMYCA maintain the pressure with a 4-2 home win over Angus Village with Paul Smith and Steve Westhead on the mark.

Sacre Coeur made hard work of beating bottom club Bankfield winning by a solitary strike from Mike Roberts to stay in third place.

Essemmay are fourth after a 3-1 home win over Stoneycroft.

Collegiate beat Alder 4-0. The manager’s son Chris Connor scored for Collegiate aided by Steve Siddell.

In the Second Division, leaders South Liverpool Reserves had a 2-0 away win at Blueline.

Second-placed Halewood Town won a tight game with NELTC Reserves 2-1. Anthony Smith scored for NELTC Reserves.

East Villa Reserves stay third after a 4-0 defeat of Leisure Sports.

Clubmoor Farmers won a high-scoring game against Warbreck Reserves 5-4, with Aiden Jones getting a pair.

Liobians slotted six without reply past bottom club Rockville as Paul Warburton netted a hat-trick.

In the Premier Division, the result of the day has to be the 2-1, by Page Celtic over Challenge Cup winners East Villa.

Leaders Waterloo Dock maintained their four-point advantage over the chasers with a 5-3 home win over NELTC who are struggling at the bottom at present as Leighton McGivern struck his 19th and 20th goals for the season, while Dave O’Leary scored his eighth and ninth of the season but in vain for NELTC.

Aigburth PH stay second after a 3-1 away win at Cheshire Lines, Neil Wenham on the mark. Ged Moore scored for Cheshire Lines.

South Liverpool also stay third after a 2-1 home win over South Sefton Boro, Brad Warburton and Dave Astles for South replied by a South own goal for South Sefton.

Ford Motors go fifth after a 1-1 draw at St Aloysius, again an own goal for Fords. Birchfield are seventh after a 1-0 away win at Roma, Mike Kennedy – son of former Liverpool player Alan – with the vital strike.
