YOUTH team coach Shaun Garnett was delighted with Tranmere’s 2-0 derby victory at Chester on Saturday.
He said: “It was a good game with both teams wanting to play and adapting well to the conditions.”
Rovers took the lead on 28 minutes as a Dave Wilson pass picked out Jack Mackreth out wide and his cross was headed in by Ross Rule.
Tranmere sealed the points on 61 minutes with Josh Macauley netting following a nice team move which included a series of six consecutive passes in quick succession.
Garnett’s side return to action in the Puma Youth Alliance North West Conference on Saturday with a home game against Port Vale.
