Goodison retains his title

TRANMERE’S Ian Goodison has been voted the North West League One footballer of the year for the second season in succession.

The accolade was announced at the North West Football Awards in Manchester but centre-back Goodison was unable to attend the function because he is with the Jamaica squad preparing for a World Cup qualifier against Canada in Kingston tonight.

Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore said: “It is a great honour for Ian to receive this award, especially as it is voted for by the fans. He has been superb for us over the last few seasons.”
