THE rest of the UniBond League Premier Division will have seen this result and taken note that Marine are deadly serious about mounting a challenge for promotion this season.
Goals from John Lawless and Shaun Tuck in a storming second half display helped Marine brush aside an ordinary looking Guiseley side.
The game was locked at 0-0 at the interval, but the Mariners exceeded many expectations by bossing the midfield and going on to dominate the game.
Lawless’s 55th-minute goal – a fine strike from just inside the area – and Tuck's deflected effort in injury time were just rewards for a Marine side who have now moved up to third in the table. It was the best performance by the Crosby outfit at home this campaign.
PRESCOT Cables twice led at Buxton through Thomas Moore, but had to be content with a point from a 2-2 draw. Gavin Knight equalised both times, his first from the penalty spot seconds before the interval, but the point was enough to take Cables out of the bottom two.
