BOOTLE are the area’s only remaining representatives in the FA Vase after a 1-0 third round victory at Long Eaton United.
Andy Fowler was on target for the fifth consecutive game for the Vodkat League First Division side.
His 10th minute goal from close-range against the Northern Counties East Premier Division earned the Bucks a place in the last 32 and prize money of £1,300.
It was only the third defeat of the season for the Nottinghamshire side, Fowler capitalising on a defensive error.
Runcorn Linnets saw their Vase dream ended by a 4-1 defeat at holders AFC Fylde.
Mike Morrison had given Runcorn a 15th minute lead, but goals from Mick Horsfall, Phil Thompson, Joe Booth and Richie Allen steered the home side through.
The Linnets also had Brian Walsh sent off in the closing minutes for a second yellow card.
The home side took advantage of the extra numbers to add the final goal in front of 413 spectators.
