Youth on their travels in cup once again

TRANMERE have been handed a visit to Cardiff City in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.

It is the 13th time Rovers had been drawn away from home in 14 ties since coach Shaun Garnett returned to Prenton Park to work with the youth set-up.

Rovers swept past Northampton Town with a 3-0 victory at the Sixfields Stadium this week after beating Darlington and Solihull Motors in previous rounds.

Garnett said: “I have got to give the lads a lot of credit for the performance at Northampton. They’ve got used to travelling. In each round I’ve thought we must get a home draw this time – but is it always an away tie.”

Rovers’ Puma Youth Alliance fixture against Burnley tomorrow has been postponed for a later date.
