PRESCOT Cables are keen for a reprieve from the weather today as they look for the chance to build on their Boxing Day demolition of Marine.
Cables stormed to a 6-3 away victory over their Crosby rivals, but Andy Gray’s men have been out of action since and remain in the bottom two of the UniBond League Premier Division.
And they look to start their new year programme with a home win over Kendal Town.
Cammell Laird bid for a third win in four at Leigh Genesis seeking their first double, having beaten the Manchester side 2-1 in October.
Marine, whose UniBond Cup fourth round tie at Witton Albion on Thursday was postponed because of a frozen pitch, have no game.
Skelmersdale United look to maintain their First Division North promotion challenge hosting Mossley, while Warrington Town, who are in the bottom two, are at home to Bamber Bridge.
Meanwhile Runcorn Linnets face Alsager Town for the fourth time this season when they visit the Cheshire outfit in the Vodkat League Premier Division.
The Linnets, who have won two of the opening three meetings, including a victory on penalties in an FA Vase replay, look to get back on track after four consecutive defeats.
Formby seek revenge at home to Maine Road, having lost 3-2 in Manchester back in September, while struggling St Helens Town face a tough clash at home to high-flyers Newcastle Town.
Ashton Athletic seek a fourth consecutive victory when they visit Silsden.
In the First Division, leaders AFC Liverpool visit Darwen, and third-placed Bootle, who are three points behind the Reds with a game in hand, are at home to Stone Dominoes.
