ON more than one occasion this season, Burscough have played worse than they did at the Butchers Arms ground and picked up three points.
Droylsden won a corner in the 59th minute, as Dickinson went up for the ball he clashed with a home forward and the ball was knocked from his grip, the ball was sent towards goal where Colin Cryan won a pushing match to score.
It took Burscough less than five minutes to equalise. Jordan Stepien controlled a long free kick in the home penalty area, after creating himself some space; he spun away from marker Newton and fired low into the net.
Minutes later a cross from the right was fumbled by Dickinson, the ball falling to Kevin Townson, he turned an aimed a shot into the far corner to restore Droylsden’s lead.
In the 91st minute Newton broke and crossed to the far post, from where Ian Fitzpatrick’s header finally killed off the Linnets brave challenge.
