Tranmere Rovers' Ian Goodison set for four-match ban

IAN GOODISON must serve a four-match suspension for his dismissal in Tranmere’s 2-1 win over Hereford on Easter Monday.

The tackle on Marc Pugh earned the Jamaican defender his second red card of the season, increasing the suspension tally from three to four games. Tranmere failed to lodge an appeal to the FA before yesterday’s deadline.

Manager Ronnie Moore is now resigned to being without Goodison for Rovers’ three remaining League One fixtures, plus the first leg of a play-off semi-final, should they qualify.

Tranmere also have a fitness doubt over midfielder Steve Jennings for Saturday’s crucial visit to Leeds.

Jennings is suffering from a breathing problem that forced him to withdraw from the Hereford game at half-time.
