TRANMERE halted a run of three Puma Youth Alliance defeats in a tightly fought encounter at Raby Vale.
Both clubs agreed to fill their line-ups with players under the age of 17.
Rovers coach Shaun Garnett said: “We wanted to take a look at the boys we have coming through for next season. There was some good football played in the work ethic was strong on both sides.”
Tranmere were indebted to keeper Andy Coughlin for two excellent saves.
Garnett added: “A draw was probably a fair result but it’s a concern we are not creating enough chances.”
Tranmere host Oldham Athletic in the Youth Alliance on Saturday. Kick-off at Raby Vale is 11am.
