FORMER Tranmere goalkeeper Danny Coyne will make his Middlesbrough debut in tomorrow’s Championship opener against Sheffield United.
The 35-year-old Wales international, who left Prenton Park this summer, takes over Boro’s senior gloves from Brad Jones, who is sidelined for three weeks with shoulder and knee injuries.
Gareth Southgate said: “We brought Danny Coyne in for his experience. He’s played for his country, he’s played in big matches and he’s a good talker.”
Coyne won the Golden Gloves award as League One’s top goalkeeper with Tranmere last season.
