Super Cooper sees Primrose locked out by Vaults

GARETH COOPER grabbed the all important winner as FC Vaults kept up the pressure at the top of Division Three as the Tangerines overcame the hard-working Primrose 1-0.

Victoria Laird Colts romped home 6-3 at Ashville Colts in the Youth Division. John Skipsey netted twice with Adam Tinker collecting the match ball with a superb treble.

Eastham Rangers battled hard but found Irby Youth in fine form as Irby strode home to a 2-1 victory thanks to strikes from Josh Roberts and Adam Smith. Although Josh Griffiths was on target for Shaftsbury A they still couldn’t muster even a point at Newton Youth, who won 3-1 thanks to goals from Aaron Ashworth and a Danny Reed double.

Division One only had one game with Saddle Club entertaining Bushell Athletic at Plymyards. Bushells took the three points thanks to a Zach Smith brace.

Andy Bolton from the Queens Park led the super whites to a whopping 10-3 win over Premier new boys Irby Club. Bolton was well supported by two Mike Burke strikes, a Lee Gibson effort and further strikes from Fitzsimmons and Chris Riley. Mike Devey and a Lee Jones double got the Irby consolations. Ben Crossley led the way for Heygarth as they defeated Hoylake Athletic 5-1. Danny Cole got the Hoylake consolation. The Dock played the Bidston in a great derby game at Levers. Strikes from Gary Reay who netted two and a Ged McAvoy effort showed the way home in a hard-fought 3-2 victory.

Division Two saw a great battle at Upton Park as Armchair led 3-2 against table toppers Shore Villa at half-time. Glen Comber, Wayne Robinson and Craig Horton gave the reds a great half-time lead. Adam Lea added a second half hat-trick as he led the Magpies to an impressive 5-3 victory to maintain Shore Villas’ 100% record.

Heswall Legion and Beehive drew 1-1. Paul Sinnott gave the Bees the lead only for Heswall player-manager David Calverley to net late on.
