Shocks in round two of the Birkenhead & Wirral Sponsors Cup

THERE were a couple of shocks in round two of the Sponsors Cup.

Wirral Hundred had a 4-0 away victory over first division FC Village as Steven Price smashed in a hat-trick.

Second division Wirral Wanderers recorded an impressive away win over their first division counterparts Parkfield BA. Debut boy David Rimmer scored, aided by Darren Corness and a Danny Irwin header.

Bebington Rovers went down 10-0 at home to 10 One o’clock Gun. JJ Harrison sealed a trick, with Jamie Edwards, Kev Machin, Ricky Neill bagging doubles and singles for Anthony Morris and Aaron Duff.

A Stuart Payne header, Martin Lewis strike and a Kenny Smith deflection was enough for Parkview Social to see off Neston Legion 3-2.

Universal Windows went down 4-0 at home to New Brighton. Danny Bancali hit a double.

New Ferry progressed with a comprehensive 5-1 result at home to Moreton. Paul Lay hit two, Mike Davis, Gary Bateman and Steven Baker also scored.
