Willaston find a way to give Cammell Laird a cup shock

STRUGGLING Willaston took West Chsehire’s pride of place in the second round of the Cheshire County FA Amateur Cup.
The village side, floundering at the bottom of Division One, sprung the surprise of the day by beating table-toppers Cammell Laird 2-1.
Allen Bull scored for Lairds, but Craig Walker and Dave Forbes gave Willaston victory.
Another shock result saw Ashville win at Upton AA by the odd goal in 11 after extra time.
Rarely will a player have scored a home hat-trick (Simon Andrews with a further brace from Richie Smart) and finished on the losing side.
Ashville’s heroes were Adam Johnson who added four to his season’s tally, Matt Singleton and Jamie Garry.
AFC Bebington tore apart Hazel Grove 5-1. A Graeme Carvell hat-trick alongside singles from Paul Kilbane and Matty Gill saw off the Stockport side.
Capenhurst Villa were not so fortunate when hosting another Stockport side, Stockport Georgians, losing 3-1. Andy Newland securing a consolation.
Chester Nomads took on Stalybridge Celtic and after extra time they came out with a 2-2 draw thanks to goals from Kieran Smith and Dan Riley.
Champions West Kirby won a tricky tie at Halton 3-2. Goals by Steve Horrocks and John Coady were not enough as the Mariners secured victory through Chris Barrow, Terry Cotgreave and Kieron Fleetwood.
Division Three leaders Hale ran out resounding 7-1 winners at Widnes Parklands in the second round of the Liverpool County FA Intermediate Cup.
Paul Hart took a fantastic haul of five goals from the game with Fassilli Poza and Harry Edwards taking the score to seven.
