Dock sailing on as McGivern gives them what four

ESSEMMAY OB have come from nowhere to open up a seven-point lead at the top of Division One with a game in hand on the team below them, after a 3-1 win at Mackets.

Graham Molloy and a double from Colin Endicott sealed the points for Essemmay. Carl Gyanne scored for Mackets.

NELTC are now second as they beat Copperas Hill 2-1, James Hargreaves and Chris Styles with the goals.

Angus Village go fifth after a fine 4-0 win at Edge Hilly, Dave Hughes with a hat-trick and Chris Coleburn also on the scoresheet.

In the Premier Division, Waterloo Dock maintained their five-point advantage over their nearest rivals with a 5-1 mauling of Old Xaverians, Leighton McGivern celebrating his return to the fold with four, the other coming from Paul Ryder. Carl Gargan scored the reply for Xavs.

Aigburth PH failed to keep the pressure up on the Dock and only grabbed a point at Cheshire Lines in a 2-2 draw. Bobby Lewtas and Steve McLinden scored for Cheshire Lines, Gerard Smith and Lee Malone for APH.

St Aloysius are now in second place after a 3-1 home win over Kingsley United, Jamie Henders with two aided by Paul Wheeler, whilst Paul Jones scored for Kingsley.

In Division Two North, Pinewoods slotted six past the luckless Bootle A to move within three points of the top.

Eli Lilly go third after a 3-2 win at Old Xaverians Res, Paddy McGuirk again on the scoresheet for Eli Lilly, whist Dave Luby replied.

Halebank and Alder drew 1-1 to remain eighth and fourth respectively. Connor Speed scored for Halebank.

Unity grabbed only their second win of the season with a 2-1 win over Liobians, despite Rob Owens putting them in front. Kenneth Bempah grabbed both goals and the points for Unity.
