Priory on their way to rehab

PRIORY VILLA sprung the surprise of the day with a first win of the season against Melbourne H&B.

Chris Lawler and 17-year-old Ryan McMahon shared the goals in a 4-3 victory in Division Two.

Meanwhile, Lute Oakfield could only manage to pick up their first point of the season with a Paul Kavanagh strike giving them a share of the game, 1-1 with Aintree Village. Sefton Arms maintained top spot after a fine 5-2 win over Halewood Town, Phil Davies (2), Brown, Baines and Doyle on target.

Pavilion Athletic kept up their recent good form in Division One with another fine win at the expense of The Hyper with goals from Brian Roberts (2), Ged McDonald and Ste Westhead giving them a fine 4-1 win with Keiron Richman replying.

GRA (Shawn Sanderson) and Quarry Green (Paul Edwards) drew 1-1 and Belfry sprang another surprise with a Graham Simms goal inflicting a first defeat of the season on English Rose.

Athletic Clubmoor had Ben Williams and James Burke sharing four goals but they still lost to an improving Regent side 5-4.

In Division Three another unbeaten run was ended as Gears United, with James Ava and Lee McWaters on target, got the better of Springfield who replied through Anthony Johnson.

Arriva Bus got running again as goals from Paul Murphy, Pete Barton (2) and Andy Lang saw them beat W Carroll Roofing 4-0 as Versatile and Aclass Cleaners (Chris Moseley) drew 1-1.

Greystone, with their lucky charm Ste Aimond on target, just got the better of The Pear Tree 2-1 with Dave Connolly replying but it took a bit of a freak own goal to deny AC Croxteth a point after pulling back all square thanks to Higgins and Donovan.

Linton were ahead with Heskey and Plews on target but the wind assisted own goal gifted them the points.
