Goal-hungry Rovers reserves stick the knife in Stanley

TRANMERE posted their best result of the season against totesport.com League Division One West strugglers Accrington Stanley.

Kithson Bain scored twice for a young Rovers line-up who grew in confidence after seizing the initiative with two goals in two minutes midway through the first half.

A goal down after 16 minutes, the home side levelled on 22 minutes when Seb Carole converted a cross from Ryan Fraughan. Carole turned provider on 24 minutes for Bain to notch his first of the night.

Tranmere had to wait until the 63rd minute for a third, from Terry Gornell after the striker seized on a poor backpass. Dale Jennings put away a similar chance on 75 minutes and Bain completed the scoring on 88 minutes from a cross by Jennings.
