NESTON YOUTH ended the unbeaten run of Second Division Grange FC in the second round of the Capitol Cup as they won 3-2 thanks to efforts from Mark Littler, Dan Hayes and Dean Jones. Chris Reid and Kieran Fleetwood claimed the responses.

A nine-goal thriller between FC Victoria and Great Float saw the latter go through 5-4 after coming from behind via a Danny Holdsworth foursome while Tom Harris (2), Eddie Williams, Paul Hale and Anthony Croke added singles to turn the game.

A goal apiece from Craig Kay, Mark Goodacre and Lewis Wright gave Liscard Bronze a 3-0 victory over Neston Nomads and goals from Peter Jones, Mark Bainbridge and Andre Clarke saw The Saughall record a 3-1 win over 12th Man.

The only Youth Division fixture saw Chester Nomads take the spoils from Shaftesbury Youth win a 4-3 win as Dave Hodgson, Jack Top, Matty Armstrong and Andy Smith got amongst the goals, and the overdue National Cup game between Poulton Royal and JOB FC will hopefully take place at West Kirby FC on Sunday with an 11.30am kick-off.
