A POINT apiece was a fair result in this entertaining encounter at Rivacre Park.
The away side took the lead after just four minutes when striker Liam Hearn capitalised on a poor clearance to score his 10th league goal of the season.
Vauxhall’s leading goalscorer Lee Furlong went close on 10 minutes however he shot wide of the left hand post after a good right-wing cross from Chris Lane.
Vauxhall grabbed their equaliser on 21 minutes with a looping header from Motors’ captain Josh Wilson.
Wilson started the move off near the half-way line and threaded the ball through to Lane on the right wing, who put in a pinpoint cross which was superbly headed home by Wilson from eight yards.
Vauxhall midfielder Tom Grice had the best opportunity for the home side on 70 minutes when he was given space to run at the Alfreton defence but his right footed shot from 20 yards was well held by Alfreton keeper Gamble.
