TRANMERE manager Les Parry landed his first capture of transfer deadline week by recuirting West Bromwich Albion’s Joss Labadie on a loan that runs until the end of the season.
The 19-year old midfielder is a second year professional with the Baggies who has had two previous loan spells at Cheltenham Town and Shrewsbury Town this season.
Parry said: “Joss is a very promising young midfielder and I’m delighted to have signed him on loan. He’s strong, industrious and will add to our options in the centre of the pitch.”
“I’d like to thank West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo for allowing Joss to come on loan to us.”
Labadie had shown an eye for goal, scoring five times in 14 games for the Shrews. He’s also a fierce competitor, picking up eight yellow cards and one red in 26 loans appearnces for Shrewsbury and Cheltenham.
Parry hopes Lababie’s arrival marks the start of a flurry of business before the dealine for emergency loans expries at 5pm today.
He said: “We’re still aiming to bring in a striker and a left back before the deadline.”

Season-ticket holders can bring a friend or relative to the match for half price. Meanwhile the game has also been designated “Flag Day” at Prenton Park.
Chief executive Mick Horton said: “The half-price offer is a way of saying thank you to our season-ticket holders.”
Skipper Ian Thomas-Moore added: “When the fans get behind us at home it really makes a difference to the team. This is a big match for us and a busy Prenton Park with supporters waving their flags would look fantastic.”
Season-ticket holders wishing to take advantage of the half price offer should present voucher J from their season-ticket books to the ticket office/club shop prior to the game in exchange for a half price ticket. The half price ticket must be for the same stand as the season ticket.
TRANMERE’S youngsters twice fought back after going behind but finally lost the Puma Youth Alliance points to Bury.
Max Power and Jake Kirby notched the Rovers equalisers in an entertaining game at Raby Vale.
Head of youth Kenny Shiels said he was encouraged by the performance.
Shiels said: “Although we did not play as well as we have done in some recent matches, there were some pleasing aspects to the performance.”
Tranmere face a busy schedule with a visit to Burnley on Saturday and a game at Morecambe on Monday, March 29.
