Tranmere Rovers’ youth side earn praise for encouraging performance

A YOUNG Tranmere side gave a good account of themselves in spite of losing the Puma Youth Alliance points to Oldham at Raby Vale.

Tranmere’s lineup was composed largely of under-16 players and a couple of under-15s, with Max Power the only first-year scholar. Tranmere’s goals were scored by Cole Stockton and Joe Conchie.

Head of youth, Kenny Shiels, said: “The boys were good enough to be competitive throughout with a good Oldham side. It was a most encouraging performance.”

ROVERS are in Youth Alliance action against Blackpool tomorrow at Raby Vale, kick-off 2pm.
