BAKARY Bojang will be handed another opportunity to impress Tranmere manager Les Parry tonight – and the striker can expect to be joined by another pair of trialists in the line-up for the pre-season friendly at Vauxhall Motors (7.30).
Former Sheffield Wednesday trainee Nick Wood and Dutchman Marien Willemsen are also looking to impress the Rovers backroom staff as Parry works on filling the final vacancies in the squad for the 2010/11 League One campaign.
Yorkshireman Wood, whose elder brother Richard plays for Coventry City, was released by Wednesday at the end of last season after failing to make a first-team breakthrough.
Midfielder Willemsen, 25, has four seasons and 120 games of experience in the Dutch first division behind him. He spent three campaigns with Telstar Petrels and last season played 34 games for FC Omniworld, scoring two goals.
Bojang, who played in the Danish top-flight for Odense, impressed with his pace and movement during the first half of Tranmere’s 3-2 win at Marine, although he made less impact later in the game.
Parry is likely to start with the trio against Vauxhall Motors and may decide they are worth another look against the more testing opposition provided by Championship club Nottingham Forest at Prenton Park tomorrow night kick-off 7.30).
Parry said: “We will have a little look at the three trialists against Vauxhall and if we think they might be okay, we can take them off and then involve them in the game against Forest the following night.”
The other three trialists who played against Marine, defenders Curtis Wynter and Paul Johannus plus striker Ian Daly, have departed Prenton Park.
Trialists could fill up to three places in the Tranmere squad.
