THE month-long saga over the future of Tranmere striker Ian Thomas-Moore should reach a conclusion by this evening, when the transfer window closes.

Rovers manager Les Parry remains hopeful that the 33-year-old will accept the offer of a one-year contract extension and sign up to stay on at Prenton Park until the summer of 2012.

However, Rotherham United manager Ronnie Moore has not given up on the prospect of taking his son to South Yorkshire.

Moore said: “If we could still get our Ian I would like to do it. We have offered £30,000 and they (Tranmere) want £50,000. We are not going to budge on that.”

Thomas-Moore did not play over the weekend, missing the trip to Dagenham and Redbridge with a knee injury. He is a doubtful starter for the Johnstones Paint Trophy first-round tie against Accrington Stanley at Prenton Park tonight.

Parry said: “Nothing changed on the Ian situation over the weekend and we only have until the close of the transfer window if anything is going to happen. I can’t affect the situation so it’s pointless me worrying about it.”
