Heygarth trounce rivals Offerton

HOULIHAN’S Birkenhead Sunday League side Heygarth FC beat Offerton Green 6-3 in the Cheshire Sunday Cup third round.

Dock FC went down 4-2 at Pack Horse and Rock Ferry Social also went out, losing 2-1 after extra-time to Cale Green.

There was no luck in the FA National Sunday Cup with Brow going out 4-1 at Hetton Lyons and The Tower falling 4-2 at Alder.

Premier Division action saw New Ferry Wirral Hotel beat Woodchurch AFC 3-2 and Stirrup Sports & Social drew 2-2.

In Division One Jamie Smith grabbed four goals, as Shaftesbury Youth A tamed Lions FC 5-1. A Billy Newman hat-trick was enough to give Kings Arms the points in a 3-2 victory over FC Fender .

Shaftesbury Youth C stayed in touch with the top of Division Two, thanks to a 2-1 win at AFC Houlihans. Shaftesbury Youth B defeated Rangers Breaks by the same scoreline. FC Ridger drew 1-1 with Bushells Athletic.

Things are getting tight at the top of Division Three, largely thanks to Neston Athletic inflicting Noctorum Athletic’s first defeat of the season in a 3-0 win. Ellesmere Port were held to a 2-2 draw against Birkenhead Youth B. Millcrofthad a 7-1 win at Comecon B. Blue Anchor defeated New Ferry Rangers 5-2 and The Avenue won 2-1 against FC Vaults.

Youth Division action saw Eastham Rangers strengthen their grip on the title chase with John Skipsey scoring five and singles for Cole Masters and Danny Read, in a 7-2 win at Birkenhead Boys Youth.
