AMATEUR FOOTBALL: Alder crush Breckside in the Business Houses League Senior Cup

LBH cup ties catch up day saw easy progress in the Senior Cup for Alder who were 8-0 winners at AFC Breckside with hat-tricks for Liam Caddick and John Morgan.

J O B went nap at St Teresa’s with doubles for Jimmy Weincke and Kaz Cole and a Ross McDowell strike giving them a 5-0 win.

English Rose had James Williams and Phil McCann on target but it was not enough as Fazakerley proved too strong and finished up winning 5-2.

In the Junior Cup Aintree Village were 4-2 winners over A C Croxteth who had Johnson and Bale replying and Marsh with Merrill and Boylan. LW V Printworks had Kyle Brown 2, Chris Balmer and Darren McDonald on target in a 4-2.win.

There were two big surprises in the Premier Div as Obiter went down 1-0 to Mossley Hill with Michael Devereux hitting the winner and Nicosia had Michael Hutton on target against Thirly to gain a share of the points in a game, on form that Thirly would have expected to win comfortably but had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

St Sebastian’s and Home & Bargain shared six goals Walker 2 and Shields for Seb’s and Mason, Glennon and Roberts replying for H & B.

In Division One, Sefton Earls led 2-0 against Pavilion Ath who battled back to cancel out the goals from Brown, Hughes and Glover with a double strike from Arthur Dowd and goals from Steve Westhead and Gary McDonald to take the points with a fine 4-3 win.

Larskpur had John Driscoll netting five times in a 9-0 defeat of Westbury and BRNESC with Mick Watson getting a hat- trick in an easy 7-1 win against Star of the Sea.
