TRANMERE booked a place in the Liverpool Senior Cup semi-final with this success at Ashton Town.
Liam Benson put Rovers a goal up on seven minutes and although the hosts levelled, a strike from Irishman Adam McGurk and an own goal put the visitors 3-1 up after an hour.
Lucas Akins added a fourth goal before the home side managed consolation 15 minutes from time. Tranmere’s lineup included new arrival Andy Robinson, who was building up his match fitness.
Coach Shaun Garnett said: “It was good for the lads to get a win under their belts.”
