THE weather once again won out with only a handful of games played again this week and at this rate we will still be playing in the summer.
Two games in the Premier had Mossley Hill pushing Thirly all the way in a nine-goal thriller. Gareth Woodall, Mike Deveraeux, Ste Coyne and Mike McDonough hit the net for Mossley Hill but it proved not to be enough as Thirly got the last word to win 5-4. Alder went down to Netherley Wood Lane Legion as Alex Strannack, Curtis Griffiths and Lee Owens netted to give them a 3-2 win.
Larkspur had it easy against Star of the Sea in Division One with Ste Driscoll, John Tate and John Driscoll once again hitting four in the 6-0 win and Pivillion Athletic, had James Carey and Jack Davies on target but had their secretary scratching his head as to how they lost 3-2 to newcomers Westbury.
In Division Two Melbourne H&B and The Breeze Hotel (Phil Butterworth) finished 1-1 with The Breeze Hotel finishing with 10 men.
Athletic Clubmoor, with Ben Williams and James Burke on target, came up against a determined Gears United who have continued a winning run since the break with a Chris Hutton strike and Ashton Gibiluru grabbing a hat-trick in a fine 4-2 win.
There were four games in Division Three with a 38-goal total scored, the Premier League has nothing on us, and top of the list is HJC Stadium beating Marsh with double strikes from Colfar, Kavanagh and Telfer and a hat-trick from Ryan Miller putting them well on the way to an easy 13- 3 victory.
Linton beat W Carroll Roofing 8-0 through Everton (2), Hodgson (2) and a hat-trick from Emison. Kyle Brown hit four and Stu Whittaker two to set up the 7-1 win for LWV Printworks over STL. Akis Bar with Anthony Jenkins (2), Paul McKenzie and Adam Turner on target beat CrossKeys 4-2.
